ABOUT THE BOOK

‘Chemistry on Point’ is a production of Adonai Science World is focused on training students to relate and apply scientific concepts to their immediate environment. It aims at promoting Chemistry education for sustainable interest and societal development. It is relevant for Senior Secondary School classes SS1-SS3 and also first-year university students. This book has the following high points:

• It is learner-friend and fun to read
• The basic concepts in physical, inorganic chemistry are simplified and straight to the point.
• Explanations of concepts and examples are made indigenous for the learners to relate within their immediate environment and everyday lives.
• The concepts are explained in such a way to facilitate self-studying by the students.
• It also contains images that would further aid the comprehension of the learner on the concepts discussed.
• It illustrates a simple problem-solving approach to calculations in Chemistry.

The content is organized in a block structure which discusses each aspect of Chemistry concisely before moving to another, from simple to more complicated topics.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Olufunmilayo Ayodele is a PhD holder in Science Education (Chemistry Option) from the University of Ibadan in 2011. She obtained a Master degree and a PGDE in Science Education from the same university in 2003 and 2001 respectively. In 1993, she bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Ibadan. She has accumulated experience in teaching Chemistry at both secondary and tertiary levels for over two decades. She is a member of the Chemistry Society of Nigeria and Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria. She is happily married with children.
